Meeting
information:
- The annual
meeting is open to everyone, but only WACDTF members may vote.
You're a member if you've
signed the WACDTF
Goals & Guidelines
(this includes anyone
who
has escorted
or
attended an
escort
training). We'll have
copies of
the
G&G
for
you
to
sign
if
you
aren't sure. It
usually lasts
no
more
than an
hour.
If
you cannot attend we encourage you
to mail us a proxy
form (PDF file, 53K) by Monday,
February
28, to help
ensure a quorum and allow
the
person you
designate
to vote for
elected
positions in
your
absence.
Below you
will find a list of positions to be filled
at the annual meeting.
We encourage you to
volunteer or nominate
another person for any
elected or
appointed position by
calling

wacdtf@wacdtf.org. If you wish to volunteer or
make a nomination ahead of time, please call

Monday, February 28. We will also
accept nominations and volunteers at
the
meeting! New
volunteers
welcome!
- The annual
meeting is a great place to connect with
volunteer opportunities
that don't involve
frozen feet. We'll
also have clinic defense
news updates,
votes on
any
major
issues, and
the
annual election.
We welcome new
volunteers for all
positions!
Proxies apply
only to the officer election, not to other
agenda items. You must be
present to
participate
in consensus. If you cannot attend, we
welcome
your comments by

Monday, February 28. All written
comments we receive will
be shared at the
meeting.
Elected and
Appointed Positions
All WACDTF
members are eligible and encouraged to
volunteer or nominate others
for any officer
or team
member position. WACDTF members elect
officers at the Annual
Meeting. The Steering
Committee appoints
committee coordinators
by
consensus at the time
of the Annual
Meeting
and at
other
times as
needed.
Elected
Officers
President: Appears on various documents related to our
nonprofit
corporate
status.
Secretary: Makes sure records are kept and handles
some official correspondence.
Treasurer: Handles our bank account and makes sure
that our books are in order.

Organizers (may be in the above roles as
well): Our bylaws say
they "shall ensure the
smooth operations" of
the
organization.
Committees
WACDTF also has
committees responsible for organizing
particular areas of our work.
These roles have
included:
Training:
arranges
escort
trainings
and
other
trainings
Outreach:
organizes
recruitment
of new
members
Clinic
liaison: reminds clinics of how WACDTF can
help
them
Website:
creates and updates our website
Administrative: keeps track of our membership
database

Directions By Foot: The Library sits on the northwest corner of 9th and G Streets, NW, across the street diagonally from the National Portrait Gallery. The Verizon Center is two blocks east; the Washington Convention Center is two blocks north.
By Metro: All Metro lines lead to the central library. Stations at Gallery Place-Chinatown (Red/ Green/Yellow) and Metro Center (Red/Blue/Orange) are each a block away from the Library. Leave Gallery Place by the 9th Street/Galleries exit or Metro Center by the 11th Street exit for the shortest walk.
By Car: Note: There is no longer free parking available in the garage below the central library. There are several nearby lots and streets with street parking.
Accessibility: Patrons with disabilities may enter the library at the front entrance at 901 G Street, NW, where elevator service is available to all public floors of the library.
